    Apropos of John’s rant about Seiko and Spring Drive – John should look at Seiko’s JDM Mechanical lineup (http://www.seiko-watch.co.jp/mechanical/lineup/), in particular the models based on the 6R21 (day/date/power reserve) and 4S36 (retrograde day/date/power reserve/independent GMT) movements. A 4S36 watch (with more complications and a high-end manufacture movement) can be had for not that much more than a Sinn 856 UTC…
